Doctor Cai

“Oh gosh, I can walk now!” We all turned to see a local patient mumbling as he walked out of a treatment room. Then he grinned and added, “Doctor Cai just did some magic.” That’s a common scene here—people come in barely able to stand, and leave walking strong.

Doctor Cai—also known as Charlie Cai—is from China. He was once a pediatrician trained in Western medicine, and he also practices traditional Chinese medicine passed down through his family. Over time, he’s earned the trust of the whole community. For many people, having someone like him is both reassuring and invaluable.

I’ve had acupuncture from many different doctors, and he’s truly one of the best. With just a touch, he can “x-ray” exactly where the problem is—and in my case, he’s been 100% accurate. That’s a rare and masterful skill. Sometimes I even feel I’ve secretly learned the trick myself—just need someone to test it on. Don’t tell Doctor Cai though; if he heard me say that, he’d just smile—his smile is his signature.
